Too True

I read this quote and absolutely fell in love. In case you haven't noticed that's not hard for me to do when it comes to my favorite things and, dressing up, glamour, and fashion are amongst my favorites (though I really haven't been able to apply those words to my life as of late)

Nothing makes dressing up more fun than a G.L.A.M closet!

I think/hope that this is what my little girl will be like in the future...how cute is she?

Dressing up would not be complete without some good polish...

And an AMAZING pair of heels.
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

A New Love

I recently stumbled across a blog that is also a blogspot member called honeyandfitz.blogspot.com and I have to say I am kind of smitten. I love the organic feel of the blog, and also her freebies, oh me oh my.

...This was not an endorsed post just one neighbor admiring another

A Twist On Toast

All I can say is how delicious...Avocado toast with tomatoes and hummus, Yum Yum Yum.

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 slices of bread [gluten-free, whole wheat, etc.]
  • 1/2 cup hummus [store bought or homemade]
  • 1 avocado – halved, pitted and peeled
  • 4 plum tomatoes, halved lengthwise, cores and seeds removed
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
  • salt + pepper to taste

Directions:
  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  • Arrange the tomatoes on your baking sheet, cut sides up, in a single layer. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Roast for 25-30 minutes, until the tomatoes are beginning to caramelize.
  • While the tomatoes roast, toast your bread. Using a cookie cutter or circular object, cut out 1-2 circles per toast, depending on how big the piece of bread is.
  • Spread ½-1 tablespoon of hummus on each circular toast.
  • In a bowl or plate, mash avocado with a fork, leaving large chunks.
  • Layer the mashed avocado over hummus, season with salt + pepper, and then top with a roasted [or fresh] tomato.
  • Serve immediately.

It Doesn't Get More Perfect!

When I saw this my heart grew wings and flew to peony heaven.

Paper Tissue Peonies:

To make, use 35 petals (get the template below) and a button stamen. Shape petals to cup inward slightly. Pleat base of each petal; pinch folds in place. Attach to stamen, positioning innermost petals low, with midpoints at stamen's head; raise each subsequent ring of petals slightly. Curl tips of petals inward.

Illustrate My Heart

I love how a good illustration can capture the beauty of the world while at the same time bringing out a youthful memory with its use of colors....oh yes and how every image ignites a spark of desire in me for travel and shopping.

Things That Make Me Think of You

I think of you when I see the ocean, I think of you when I smell the sea. I think of you when I see someone kind, I think of you always for you are always on my mind.

For always taking me to see movies I love and learning to love them because you love me.

For being my moon and sun, the light in my life.

For the way you always smell fresh like the ocean air.

For loving art.

For the way you hold me, and the way you never forget my love of flowers.

For all of our adventures.

And most importantly for being the only fish in my heart till the sun grows cold and the stars old.

Sky High

There is nothing like the weekend to bring your treasures out of their chest for the city to see.

Intelligent Innocence

Have you ever noticed how children say the most amazing and heart warming things....I think the reason for this is that they think with their minds and answer with their hearts.

When I read this my heart grew...may you never get tired of what children have to say because most of the time they are little Einstein's with thoughts worth listening to.

Capture My Heart

There is nothing that I love more than good photography that captures your heart and makes you smile from its beauty.

Tuesday Quote Day

I am a person who loves structure, even though I like to let loose sometimes. However, on a day to day basis I like for things to be planned. I always find quotes that I love and I have decided that Tuesday's are going to be quote days so here is the first of many to come:

Words to live by.

Home Is Where The Heart Is.

Even though it was nice to get away for a weekend it is good to be home. I just love beautiful homes they are like a book each filled with a story.

Cabin Food Done Fiesta Style

I mentioned earlier that this trip was for a friends birthday and the hostess with the mostess had chosen a fiesta theme and can I tell you I just die over really good Mexican food!

Tacos from a taco stand we found on our way called Tacos y Mas.

Sunny side up eggs served with fried tortillas, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and homemade hot sauce.

Vegetarian Flautas served with cabbage, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, sour cream, and homemade hot sauce.

Unfortunately, I am not the one who cooked all of this delicious food but if you are interested leave a comment and I will do a post on the recipes.

Views From The Trip

Here are some pictures I took to share with you from the trip...we went to Oklahoma and given the weather the trees did not have their usual vibrant color.

Cabin Must Haves

I cannot help but get excited everytime I go on a trip with the packing being one of my favorite parts. Below are my cabin must haves.

1. Jewelry: essential pieces that are your favorites.
2. A weekend bag that makes your heart flutter.
3. T-shirts that are both stylish yet comfortable so that you can lounge and sleep in them, it is good to always be resourceful in weekend trips.
4. Cozy sweaters that you can snuggle in.
5. Comfortable shoes: Uggs, Wellies, and tennis shoes are a must for a weekend in nature.
6. Scarfs: I am head over heels in love with scarfs, so I always find it necessary to take a couple with me.
7. Cozy pants: leggings or sweatpants, anything you can look fabulous in while lounging.
8. A pillow and a blanket: I am extremely sentimental, so I always like to take my own pillow and throw blanket with me when I travel so that I can always have a piece of home with me, even if it is just for a weekend.

Roadtrip

A birthday in a cabin in the middle of nature? Why yes please! This weekend was a certain party animals birthday and it was decided that a cabin would be the perfect place to kick back, relax, and get in tune with nature.

When I saw this image I could not help but be inspired. Looking at this I though it would be a cute do-it yourself craft for trips taken with loved ones. All you need is some colored string, a needle, and a map. Stitch on the map where memories were stitched into your heart and then frame it!

A Minication

This past weekend I went away on a little trip with some dear friends and being that I was in the middle of nature I had to sacrifice access to the internet...you will get to see all the posts I had planned for the last couple of days today. Did I mention it is good to be back, I missed you all.

Sleep

I am usually the early bird but this week sleep has become my go to comfort. It might be because of the cold and rainy weather but, a warm bed and my laptop is all I need to be a content woman this week!
